Established in November 2002 by a visionary group of unemployed women , Yizani Sakhe—meaning “Come let us build” —stands as a premier pillar of hope and structural transformation in Gugulethu, near Cape Town. Starting completely from grassroots with no operational budget for its first three years , the organization has evolved over more than two decades into a highly agile, multifaceted non-profit dedicated to the systemic eradication of poverty, hunger, and disease.
